Increasing Adherence With Post-MI Follow-Up

It is well known that patients have problems with adherence post-MI. A recent study has been published showing that patient follow-up is another important avenue for increasing adherence. When patients see their healthcare provider within one month of a cardiac event they are more likely to be adherent and to persist with treatment. At six months, these patients were significantly more likely to be taking their beta blockers and their adherence to statins was significantly increased.
