Reaching Teens via Text: Speaking the Lingo

A pilot project at the Cincinnati Children's Hospital is addressing adherence to asthma medication in teens. The project allows teenagers to choose everything from their message content to receipt times. Text messages fit perfectly into the adolescent lifestyle allowing them to feel independent while still being healthy. It provides freedom from worrying about remembering to take the medication, and doesn't use parents or other embarrassing reminders. Link
