Discrepancies Between Patients' and Physicians' Theories Predict Adherence

In a recent adherence study, researchers assessed the affects of discrepancies in theoretical attributions regarding pharmacotherapy between patients and health care professionals. This discrepancy was found to be significantly more predictive of patient adherence than isolated patient theories or beliefs. A further example of the importance of health care relationships in maintaining patient compliance.
