Phone Interventions Nearly Double Re-initiation

The South Carolina Longitudinal Adherence Treatment Evaluation program assessed affects of a telephone intervention on the rate and timing of patient medication re-initiation at 60 or more days overdue for refill. Results found that the rate of patients re-initiating treatment significantly increased in the intervention group (59.3% at an average of 59.5 days) compared to the control group (42.1% at an average of 107.4 days).
