J&J Marries Hard & Soft Science Through Health Media Acquisition

On October 28, J&J announced the acquisition of HealthMedia. The acquisition was not widely talked about, caught a lot of people in the industry by surprise. We found it to be a timely move ahead of the new Obama health agenda. The potential synergy between J&J and HealthMedia offerings could give J&J a competitive advantage in positioning their devices and drugs. It may become easier for J&J to blend the hard and soft sciences for greater therapeutic success.
